A Day In The Life of A Working Mom

I've been thinking for a while to make something like "A Week in The Life", but I'm not sure whether I can do it. It does seem like a lot of work, and at the moment I feel like I'm really BUSY enough.

So well, today as I'm surfing the net, I read some entries about A Day In The Life of A Working Mom, and it's kinda inspire me a bit! So here it goes.. My day on a normal Tuesday. No photos, though. I haven't taken any photos today!

7:50 am

Pi woke up first (at 7:30am) and took a shower. When he's done, he woke me up for my shower. Kinda surprised that Caitlyn is still sound asleep at this point. She would normally wake up at 7:30am. Maybe she's very tired as she slept quite late last night (close to 11 pm!!) and we just returned from a short trip to Jakarta yesterday.

8:05 am

I finished my shower, and as I opened the bathroom door, Caitlyn was awake! (We really need to do something about that door. It is very noisy when we open or close it!) As usual, Caitlyn is the happiest just after she wakes up from her night sleep. She looked at me happily and smiled soooo sweetly. However when I'm away from her for a few more centimetres (I need to comb my hair and put on some moisturizers etc), she cried and looked at me anxiously, afraid that I will leave her. Luckily Daddy come to the rescue! He played with her while I'm finishing my morning beauty regimen.

8:15 am

I had my breakfast. Today's breakfast menu was chicken steak, it was quite nice. Meanwhile, Vio has just finished his shower and getting ready to go to school. Today is his first school day after a one month holiday. He refused to put on his socks, but after sometime, he's finally ready and go to school with Nai2. I kissed him before he went off. Today he brought "Spiku" cake that we brought from Jakarta as his snacks to eat at school. His school actually provided some snacks for the students, but the teacher mentioned that sometimes Vio refused to eat and will just sit there while other kids are eating.

8:30 am

Time to go to work! I waved and kissed bye-bye to Caitlyn, and surprisingly she didn't cry at all, and even didn't ask me to carry her! (She would normally do that every time I wave bye bye). Apparently she's going for a shower, and yes she loves bath time very much, so that explains why she didn't want me to carry her. I took MRT to Caldecott MRT (changing at Buona Vista), and checked my emails along the way. I'm really wondering why didn't I get smart phone sooner?? To think that I'm getting it only recently! Yeah I'm always one step behind when it comes to technology.. LOL..

9:30 am

Reach office! I switched on my laptop, washed my water bottle and took some warm water. There's nothing much for me to do in office, so I spent the whole morning surfing net and downloading digital scrapbook files.

12:00 pm

It's lunch time! I went to the Market, planning to eat my favorite sliced fish soup with ee mee. But today the queue was very long, so I ended up eating Mini Pot Noodle, which was also not bad. After that we had Belgian Waffle with Rum 'n Raisin ice cream in Creamery. It was deeeeellliiiicciiiiooussss... I think that they have the best belgian waffle in town! After ice cream, we went to a nearby mama shop to buy some baskets. I'm in the midst of organizing my ever-growing scrapbook supplies that are VERY messy now. I'm really hoping that I have a bigger space to store my items and to do my crafts! All I have is this small table (which top is already half-occupied by my papers), a small cupboard under the table that contains our photo albums, as well as scrapbook albums, etc, and a drawer to contain all my other stuffs. Now I also hang my items on the wall so that it's easier for me to get things that I'm looking for. When horizontal is not possible, go vertical! LOL!

1:30 pm

Back to the office again, and still surfing net and chat with a friend. This is the time when I read the entries about "A Day in The Life of A Working Mom", and I'm kinda inspired to write about today! So here I am now, typing all these at 4:50 pm.

7:00 pm
Reached home, and greeted with the sweetest smile of Caitlyn and hopeful face of Vio, saying "Something?" He always hopes that I bring him a little something from office, and if I did, he would be sooooooo happy. But on this particular day, I didn't get him anything. The two kiddos were having dinner (in front of TV), so I took a bath, then play with them for a while, then have dinner with pi. And followed by playing with them again until around 9 pm

9:20 pm
The 2 of them slept fairly fast today! Since both of them has slept, I'm free to do my hobby! Lately I'm into organizing my supplies and coloring stamped images, so I did just that.

10:15 pm
Pi and I watched How I Met Your Mother (Season 7). It's our favorite show of the moment! We watched 2 episodes. I think it's wishful thinking if we plan to watch only 1 episodes. It's confirmed that we will watch at least 2 episodes. The serial is just so funny and fun to watch. And it's only 20 mins each!

11:00 pm
We're feeling rather tired today (maybe coz it's the first day of work), so we went to bed early.

In Love with Coloring (Prismacolor and Sansodor)

I'm simply in love with coloring (and stamps) right now!

I recently bought a set of prismacolor pencils (after my previous Luna watercolor pencils set being completely destroyed and thrown around by my 2 angels). I had read that this seems to be the best color pencil around. They're not cheap, though. But I don't regret this purchase for even a little bit now!

The first time I'm coloring (and blending with sansodor and paper stumps), somehow the result didn't turn out to be nice. I had some difficulty on the blending part. Though I had made sure that the stumps are wet with sansodor, the color didn't seem to blend nicely. What have I done wrong? Or did the ebay seller I bought the pencil from sell the fake prismacolor? :p

Hours of reading online tutorial later, I went home and try coloring with the new "knowledge" that I've gained from the online tutorials. And voila! I can color it nicely! Well, at least I think that it looks nice (with gradient colors and all).

Not too bad for a beginner ya? I quite like the "shades" of the bear. I used 3 different shades of the pencil.

And here's one more:

I kinda think that the cat is such a cutie (after I color it)... Ooooooo.. I'm just soooooooo happy now that I can color (quite) nicely.. Haha...

Some tips for successful coloring:

1. Color one area first and blend with sansodor. Once done, add a darker shade, and blend again with sansodor. And after that, add yet another darker shade and blend again (in circular motion, pushing towards the center). It is recommended to use 3 shades for each color
2. While blending, do it at an angle. So you're blending with the sides of the stumps instead of the pointy tip of the stumps. This was my previous mistake! I thought that I should use the tip of the stumps! Once I use the sides of the stumps, the blending works like magic!

My Photobooks are Here!

Finally! The moment I've been waiting for! My first-ever photobook (that was meant for me) are here! - actually make it two as they arrived almost at the same time.. Only 1 day different!

I ordered them from Artscow, and I must really say that though the price is really cheap, the quality is good! I LOVE THEM!!

The first one is for Caitlyn's First Birthday Party & Celebration.. It's an 8"x8". I think I paid only about $15 SGD for it? Here it is:

Not bad ya? Well, at least I'm quite satisfied with it! The above photobook was designed by me (each and every page of it!

And here's the other one.. it's a 6"x6" photobook, which I only paid about $8 - $10 SGD? So cheap! This is for our last year's "holiday" to Sentosa! Haha.. It's a project that I've been delaying and delaying since I don't have time to do it! I have planned to make a mini album for it, and I have even bought the papers, embellishments and all that. Then I figured that making photobooks would be much easier and MUCH faster. And well, they look pretty nice too :D For this one, I finished it in 1 day (coz I'm using the ready-made template provided by ArtsCow). Wow, can you believe it? 1 day to complete the whole album! If I were to make the traditional scrapbook, it might take me 1 month to complete :p



Recipes: Cakes

Sometimes, I'm reaaaaallly wondering if something is actually wrong with me.. I should be busy enough, but yet, I feel like I'm constantly looking for things to make me even BUSIER! :p  The newest one is: I decided to compile all the recipes that I have into 4x6 recipe cards and arrange them in an albums! So that everytime I wanna look for recipe, I don't need to search in google again, or trying to find "where's that old recipe.."  And of course, I love things that look pretty!

It's not like I often cook, or bake cakes.. But well, I think I'm just an organization-freak! Haha!

Some of these recipes would be in Indonesian language as they're hand-me-downs. But if you're really interested, please let me know and I'll try to translate it for you! :)

To start things off, here's my mom's cupcake recipes.. Have I told you that my mom bakes veeeeeeery nice cake? :D  Ok these are not the regular cupcakes (with fancy topping and all that).. These are more of the soft cupcakes (not hard type). It doesn't look as pretty as the cupcakes nowadays, but trust me, these tastes nicer.

We Love Jellyhearts!

Over the weekend, I suddenly felt like making something. Sooo... I decided to make Strawberry Jellyhearts again! (This is the second time I'm making it). It's reaaaaaaaaaalllyyyyy nice and easy to make! Everyone loved it to bits (especially Vio who can't seem to stop eating it)..

Ok if you wanna make one, this is the recipe that I found on the internet (and slightly modified)


Ingredients:

base:
110g digestive biscuits(about 8 pieces), chopped into fine crumbs
40g melted butter

filling:
250g cream cheese, soften at room temperature
50g icing sugar
1 tablespoon gelatin powder
1/2 cup boiling water
1 teaspoon vanilla essence

topping:
1 box Jelly crystal (strawberry flavour) - I used Tortilla
1 cup boiling water
1 cup cold water

Some strawberries, cut into heart shapes

Method:
1. Mix biscuit crumbs & melted butter together and press firmly with the help of a spoon onto the base of a 18cm cake tin. Chill for 30 minutes.

2. Place gelatin powder and boiling water in a bowl. Heat a pot filled with some water until just simmering and place the bowl inside the pot. Dissolve gelatin and boiling water in the bowl. Keep warm.

3. With an electric mixer, beat cream cheese , icing sugar until smooth & creamy. Blend in gelatin solution and vanilla essence and mix well.

4. Using a fork, prick holes all over the biscuit base. Pour the cheese mixture into the cake tin. Layer the strawberries on the cheese mixture. Chill for at least 3 to 4 hours.

5. Dissolve the jelly crystal in the cup of boiling water, followed by the cold water. Pour the jelly on the cheese mixture, just enough to cover the strawberries. Put in fridge. Let it set before removing from the cake tin.

My First Photobook!

A few days back I received a nice surprise..

It was my first ever photobook! Ok it's not actually for me.. I printed it to give to a friend of mine who has just given birth to a sweet baby boy. Well, the plan is for her to paste her baby's photos (month by month), and some notes about that month. So I designed the digital pages and print it as a photobook. I hope it would work out well!

Back to the photobook.. It was NICE.. I'm so happy to see my work gets printed and binded. It feels like... well, it feels like I've been published! LOL..I got it printed at http://www.artscow.com/. I'm sooooo happy that I found this website by chance. They offer free photobooks (and other photo items) for new members, we only need to pay for the shipping. At first I was skeptical about the quality, but once I received the photobook, I must say I'm 100% happy! Heeeee...

Can you imagine when I first sign up with this ArtsCow, I went all crazy with the freebies that they're offering! I felt like I want to order ALL of them! But luckily, my senses stop me. What would I DO with SO many things that I don't actually need?? Haha.. But of course I still order few items from them. So far, what I've ordered from them are:

• Photobook for a friend who's just given birth
• Photobook for Caitlyn's 1st Birthday
• Photobook for our Sentosa Staycation last year
• A watch (with self-designed face)
• 2 cosmetic bags (1 for me, and 1 as a birthday present for another friend)

Oh my, that's quite a long list for a short period of time, yeah?? Well, so far I've only received the first item. I can't wait to see the other items!! I hope they would look nice too.

A Bday Celebration ^^

I'm officially in my last year as a 20-something =p

Heard that Vio was the one choosing the birthday cake! As usual, he chose pink color. Seems like he likes pink color (just like his mommy) hahaha...

In the afternoon, we planned to go to the city area, as pi mentioned there's a laser show in Marina Bay (and I never heard of it before!). But I wanted to eat in Asian Kitchen. Somehow I missed their noodles. Haven't eaten that for about 2 years I think.. LOL... So we went to Marina Square as according to internet, there's a branch there.

Sadly....... apparently the Internet wasn't updated... We couldn't find any Asian Kitchen there... So in the end we had Thai Express instead :D

But it's a good thing that we went to Marina Square. Apparently they were having an event for toddlers. There were some free games, and one of them was bowling game with a very big ball. Being a ball fans, Vio was suuuuuuuuper excited to see the game and wanted to play it.

Luckily the queue wasn't too long :p

Next we went to Esplanade, and sit along Singapore river, relaxing and hoping that we can catch the laser show from there. Walking to where the laser show is was way tooooo far....

Just when the show was about to start..... it was drizzling... Dotzzz.... So in the end we didn't watch the show... Hahahaa... Well, there's always next time ;)

Coupons, Anyone?

Lately it seems like sites selling daily deals of discounted items/services are the trend in Singapore. And many of us (including me!) diligently looking at what the daily deals have to offer. Some deals are really good, I must say.

Recently pi & I bought a 120 minute facial AND full body massage for only $38. Wow, that's quite a steal! Other merchants offering either facial OR massage at that price! So this is like half the price! We were quite excited to go for the session. So last Thursday, we both took half day leave for the session.

The "spa" was located at Toa Payoh Central... Hmm... Quite suspicious ya... But I've been to other spas located in shophouses along Tanjong Pagar, and they're as professional as those located in the mall.

Reaching the "spa", we were ushered to a small room (without the usual chit-chatting to know what we want/need). We asked for a couple room, so we got a room with 2 bed inside. But it was very small and no "spa"-like feeling! The lady was from China and very unfriendly. Tsk!

We started with the facial first. The lady doing my treatment kept asking whether I want to upgrade to have diamond peel etc but I kept refusing. And the facial included in the package doesn't include extraction. Hmmm... it doesn't really feel like a facial at all, eh? It's just like someone helping us to wash our face and applying mask.. LOL... Not to mention that the lady was quite rough in washing the face..

And for the massage, I heard the masseur kept asking pi whether wanna upgrade the massage or not... And he (of course) also always answer no.. The massage was very soft... Not like the normal massage we went to at other spas... It feels more like the lady is only applying and rubbing oil in our body.. And the funniest thing... The room was very small so there's not enough place for them to move around to "massage" us, so they actually kept shifting the bed around! Haha! I almost want to laugh (desperately) when they're shifting our bed around.. And the therapists was very unprofessional too.. They kept chit-chatting while doing the spa, and even answering their handphone.. Tsk!!

So far this is the worst spa I've ever been to... Pi even commented that the place is meant more for uncles & aunties... LOL... Next time when buying a spa deals, must really check where's the spa located! No more neighborhood spas for us!

Lesson learnt: You get what you pay for.. haha!

A Dream Came True

I'm practically in cloud nine now.

I just got my dream machine! I have been eyeing this machine for much more than a year now. It's a digital cutting machine. Basically it can cut any template/picture you have in your computer. It can even cut fonts already installed in your computer. Imagine! I can cut as many letters as I want to in whatever sizes, without worrying some letters are gonna finish soon! And better still.. It can work together with a printer, to print design using normal printer, and after that cut it using this digital cutter. How cool is that!

Upon hearing there's 1 shop in SG selling at 25% off this month and with some freebies, I was so happy! Too bad it was only for members... But since I was quite active in this scrapbooking forum, surely some of them are members in that shop. True enough, someone nice from the forum (that I never met before) was more than willing to help me get it. So we went down together yesterday and get the machine. That lady is just so nice :)

And my review about this product so far? Once I'm home, I can't wait to install the software and this machine. Luckily Vio was asleep, so I got time to play around with it. And... it was aweeeeeeeeeesssssoooooomeeeee... I love it! Cutting and making boxes are such a breeze. I also tried cutting intricate design small christmas trees, and the cutting was just perfect! All I can say now is that I'm in love.. Hahaa :D

Green Tea Macchiato

Today at lunch time, we went to join the queue at Koi Cafe, a famous bubble tea chain from Taiwan. I was so sure I want to order Oolong Tea, right until I'm standing in front of the cashier.

I saw they have big banner of their new drink launching: Green Tea Macchiato and Black Tea Macchiato. Wow, the name surely sound nice, and so does the picture! Without much thinking, I decided to give it a try. I always wonder what does "Macchiato" means anyway..

Apparently the tea comes without bubble, and I'm not supposed to mix them up or drink it with a straw. They provided me with something to cut open the lid, and then I'm supposed to drink from the cup directly.

First taste... CREAM.. wow I'm drinking pure cream! After sometime, I can start to taste the green tea (which was nice). But mixture of green tea and cream? Hmmm.. I don't really think they go along well together.

Well then, I suppose next visit to Koi Cafe, it'll be the good old Oolong Tea/Milk Tea again ;)

B'day & Mooncake Celebration

We had a long weekend, and it just coincides with my birthday!

Nothing really special, actually. We just went out to eat at the restaurant of my choice. Well, I chose Tony Roma's, coz I want to eat that very yummy pork ribs one more time! I tried their pork ribs quite sometime ago.. Actually it was my first time eating pork ribs, and OMG they're soooo yummy! Until now I still remembered how nice it was! I tried pork ribs at few other restaurants, but nothing can beat Tony Roma's, at least as far as I can remember.

So we went to the branch in Suntec, and seated by the koi pond. It was quite a nice view..

We ordered the original baby back pork ribs, salad, and potato skin. Actually I had high expectations on the potato skin (the description sounds so nice, and many people ordering them). It was quite nice, but I think a bit overcooked, so it tastes a little bit bitter.

The first bite to the pork rib, it was........ okay.. Wow I was quite surprised. Where was that explosive nice feeling I had last time? The pork rib was nice but wasn't as fantastic as the one in my memory. Pi even commented that he thinks the ones served in Billy Bombers was nicer.. In the end, we conclude that maybe for pork rib, the first place where we ever tried the dish, we'd think that it's the nicest one. For pi, he tried pork rib the first time at Billy Bombers, so in his memory, Billy Bombers have the nicest pork ribs so far. So.. maybe our conclusion is right? Hmmm...

As for Vio, he was all excited to see the dish came with CORN... He started making a noise: "Yumi... Yumi (chinese word for corn).. corn.. corn.." and of course, we gave it to him, and in the end he ate the whole 2 corns all by himself.

During the weekend, we also had our mooncake! Actually this year I only bought 2 pieces from Kia Hiang restaurant, as they're selling per piece, rather than per box. I've wanted to buy Raffles Hotel's one, but sadly they're only selling per box. Don't think that we can finish 8 pcs of mooncake all by ourselves!

I bought blueberry cheesecake and durian flavour. As usual, Vio was excited to see me bringing home a new food. He thought it was something like fruit... So when he see me bring it home, he say "wash.. wash.. eat... sit down..". He asked us to wash it, then eat together. He even sat down nicely waiting for the mooncake to be given to him! Tsk tsk tsk.. Amazing how he can just know that there's a nice food to eat.

Oh so, we cut the mooncake during the weekend, and yes it's yummy! Vio love it so much that he asked for somemore (too bad there's no more).. and he was happily licking the box to get the remaining left-over.

Something so obvious..

Have you ever felt that you're so certain of something, but upon finding out that it's actually not, you think that "ya hor.. how can I think of it like that in the first place?"

When I was in Duisburg, I bought this cute chocolate, quite big-sized, and shaped like a bee, with the cover is bee picture. Even complete with the eyes and little feets.. It's soooo cute! Actually I bought it as souvenirs, but who knows, once Vio touched it, he immediately scratched it until the a bit of bee picture cover came off.. oooooohh :(  Can't give as souvenirs liao, and of course can't let Vio eat it, so I decided to eat it myself :p

All the while, I kept thinking: wow.. the chocolate is so big.. how to eat... I thought that inside is all chocolate, as in there's no air inside.. who knows, apparently inside is air! The chocolate is only at the bee shape, and nothing inside it.. LOL... Now I think: how can I, at the first place, assume that the whole bee is made of chocolate (without air inside)? :p

Oh, and yes, the chocolate is delicious!

Gelare!

Today is Gelare SG's Facebook Fan day. All FB fan will get a free scoop of Gelare ice cream.. wow.. something not to be missed, eh? ;)

The nearest Gelare outlet from my office is at Orchard Central.. Ok it's not that close actually, it's pretty far.. But then, lunch time at Orchard is always refreshing.. Somehow felt like we went out for window shopping (not like a working day!) and returning back to office feeling refreshed :p

So we decided to have our lunch at Food Republic in 313 Somerset. We tried Bibimbap from Korean food stall. Wow it was nice! My friend said it tasted the same as the one sold in Korea itself.. hohoho.. quite happy to find a stall selling nice (and spicy) Bibimbap..

After lunch, it was already... 1 pm! Oh no... time to go back office :(  But since we planned to go to Gelare at Orchard Central, we quickly went there. I was hoping that there's no queue.. Though so unlikely.. Come on.. free things in Singapore? People here so kiasu for free stuff.. so there must be a very very long queue..

.. but surprisingly.. for the first time ever, I saw there's no queue at all in Gelare.. Where's everybody?? Hahaha.. but that's kinda good. We can get our free scoop of ice cream. The flavour given out in this outlet is "white chocolate with raspberry truffle".. Ohhhh.. yummy... yeah yeah yeah it's as yummy as it sounds!

So.. whoever not yet claiming your Gelare free scoop, don't forget to go down to one of its outlet today! ;)

Too Many Stressed/Lonely People?

I'm wondering whether the number of stressed/lonely people in Singapore increased lately?

This morning on my way to work, I'm standing near to of a guy, which I thought was inconsiderate. The MRT was full packed, people are standing like sardines in a can. And this guy was sitting sloppily, his legs are stretched to the front such that noone can stand in front of him. When I saw him this morning, I kinda thought that I think I saw him before.... And not long after, I remember clearly. I really did saw him before. Because he started talking to no-one! No, he's surely not talking on the phone, as he just turn off the handphone. He was just like grumbling and talking (to himself I suppose), I just pretended I didn't see or hear him.

And few weeks/months back, also inside MRT, few times I saw this old uncle, speaking loudly and singing (with a bit of dancing and clapping hands) inside the MRT! It's like he's having a show or something. And after finish with the chinese version, he also did another show in English. He first talk loudly, inviting people to watch him, then continue with the singing and clapping hands. His voice was quite nice, actually. But I can't help feeling sad and also scared.. Sad because they might do that coz they're lonely and need attention? And scared because... not sure how mentally stable they are.. How if they suddenly attack me or something? Kekekekee.. ok maybe I'm thinking toooooo far..

A New Addiction

I was sooooo bored in the office this week, with most of my jobs already finished (waiting for my system to be tested now. I'm sure when the user starts testing, I'll be super duper busy!)

So since I was so bored, and with nothing much to do, I started looking for something new to do... and then based on recommendation from a friend, I started my journey on... Restaurant City in Facebook! LOL.. Hey, I don't normally play any game in Facebook at all, ok.. This would be the 2nd game I tried on facebook (out of sooo many games and so many people playing for so long already.. yeah I know I'm kinda late...) and I like it!

In this game, we can design the layout of our restaurant, where we want to position the table, chair, door, window, other decoration.. And based on the coins we have, we can buy new furniture, flooring, etc to decorate our restaurant. And we can also learn new recipe if we have the ingredients. Sounds kinda normal, but I tell you, it's addictive! Hahaha! We can even design the toilet and garden in our restaurant.. I love this kind of designing thing :) Just that, the coins never seem to be enuff to buy the nice nice decoration/table/chair/etc to put in the restaurant..

Oh, I was quite confused on what to name my "restaurant".. For now, I name it "Munch House" kekekekee... not so creative ya? Still looking for a new creative name now...

That's the current layout of my restaurant. I think I want to change the flooring. Brown, pink, and yellow is just toooooooo "dangdut", don't you think? Hahhaaa.. Wait wait til I have more coins first.. I also want to change all the chairs and tables.. wah I guess that wun be so soon... Changing all will needs loooooots of coins.. LOL...

Oh yeah, one thing I also like about this game is that we can hire our friends to be our employees.. They'll be either a cook/waiter/janitor.. hahaaa... Hmm.. now my hand is itchy to start playing on this game again... But must endure!! Can't let my boss see me play this during office hour.. LOL.. Just now he saw my screen and commented: "Wah.. Restaurant City ya.. my son also playing it.." LOL.. Lucky it was still considered lunch hour... Ahem.. before 2 pm is considered lunch hour la hor? ^^

Becoming Less Wiser?

I have just had one of my wisdom tooth extracted yesterday! But of course, it does not making me less wiser.. wahahahaha..

Early last week, my gum was swollen, and according to the dentist, I need to extract my upper right wisdom tooth coz it's getting "longer" such that it's biting my gum now. And the bottom wisdom tooth is not out yet. I hope it won't be out ever!!

So since my parents is coming to SG, I scheduled the extraction to be yesterday. At least I'm getting an MC on that day, so I can accompany them going around before the extraction.. kekekekee.. So yesterday, I brought them (and Vio) to IKEA, which is near to Alexandra Hospital, where my tooth will be extracted.

It was their first time going IKEA, and they quite like it. And Vio love it a lot. According to my parents (who was taking care of Vio when I went to the hospital for a while to get my tooth extracted), Vio was sooo happy he kept running around, and wanting to climb the tables, and also busy spinning the TV console base for TV.. ahahaa.. He kept walking around for about 1 hour.. wow... amazed he didn't feel tired.. hehehee..

Oh, anyway, the extraction process was (luckily) simple one. And it was so fast!! Just when I thought the lady doctor is going to start doing it, she said that it was done already! I was so amazed... Not much of "krrkkkk" sound that I was expecting (it's the sound of teeth roots I guess).. The process was like.. less than 10 minutes.. (including the anesthesia injection!)

And sadly, since it was just considered a simple extraction, she didn't give me MC for the next day. I was kinda hoping she'll issue an MC on the next day (so I can accompany my parents going around again) hehehee... hey, even my boss this morning said to me: "oh, so finally you didn't extract the wisdom tooth? Why are you here today?" *sigh sigh sigh*.. I want MC!

Well, honestly, since this morning I saw some bleeding again, I was tempted to go to a doctor to get an MC for today.. After all, I got an "excuse" to get an MC.. Hahaa! But in the end, my conscience stop me.. kekekekekee... That's a proof that I'm not becoming less-wiser without 1 of my wisdom tooth, eh? ;)

A Blessing in a Bad Day

I won't deny that I hateeeeeee hate hate supporting one of a system at work. Sadly, I'm the only one supporting that system and all the problems will come to me. The system was soooo utterly very very poorly developed, and the database design is really cannot make it.. I've never seen a system so badly developed as that one. I think not even in my university time I'd develop something that bad. I'm not exaggerating here.. If you need to support the system, you'd know what I meant. The processing and all was actually supposed to be simple, but the developer made it such a way that it's complicated, and even so troublesome and time-spending to maintain.

And last friday, the big boss requested to change some of the figure in the report. And with this so-called "great" system, it's not just a matter of changing the value in db, and "poof!" the report is changed. Well, I think a system should behave that way! Sadly, this system design makes things difficult since it copies the data from one table to another table, and from the other table to some other table etc etc etc.. so I need to trace the code to see which data need to tweak and which process need to be re-run... And instantly, on Friday I was such in a baaaaaad mood!

To lighten my mood, on 11am, I decided to go for Laines make&take session. (Laines is a local scrapbook store in SG). Well, initially I didn't intend to join it, as the thing to make isn't that interesting. But hey, going to a scrapbook shop will certainly brighten my day, won't it? ;)

So finally I went to join the make&take, we made a Valentine's door hanger. Not bad, at least I can hang it on my door! haha.. And the thing I love about make&take is... having a discount voucher for shopping! That day the promo was 4 item for 40% off. And so I grab 4 items that I like, and I see this 1 paper that I like! But that makes it as 5 items, right? So the additional 1 paper would need to be paid as a normal priced item.

When I went to the cashier to pay, the conversation goes like this. FYI, I frequent the shop so often (most of the time to see see and oh-ah only, and sometime to buy something small), until almost all the shopkeeper know my face liao :">

Cashier: You own a VIP card, right?
Me: Umm.. No, I'm a privilege cardholder
Cashier: Waaattt? You've been coming here for so long, how come still holding privilege cardholder? Currently we have a promo: spend min $50 and you'll get upgraded to VIP (normally must spend a LOTTT to be a VIP member, that explains why I'm not a VIP yet hahaaa)
Me: Oh.. I think my items are less than that... No need la..
Cashier: Hmm.. tell you what.. I'll give 15% discount for the normal-price item (that's the VIP discount), and issue you a VIP card.

Waaaaaaahh.. I was so happy! The cashier girl was so nice to me! I got Laines VIP card now... (15% off normal priced items) kekekekee... At least I got something happy in the blue day :)

Reminiscing The Good Old Times..

Sometime ago, my bestfriend during Junior High School (waving to Yeniffer) mentioned about the diary we wrote together during junior high school time.. Then I was like.. "huh?? diary?? we got write diary together?" OMG yeah that's how bad my memory is.. I can't actually remember having a diary together that time! -_- Isn't that so sad?

Well, I remember having a diary together with my Senior High School friend, Anna, which (the diary) is now gone with the wind.. as in.. dunno where it is liao... Even though I reaaaaaalllyyyy want to read it again.. It must feel really funny now if we read our old diary again, don't you agree? ;)  And I also remember that our high school teacher forfeit 1 of our diary.. OH NO! It was so full of "gossips" of our teachers! Until now I still wonder whether the diary goes around in the teachers office or not... I certainly hope not! But well, of course now we've graduated from Senior High School so it doesn't matter anymore.. haha..

Oh yeah... back to the diary with Yeniffer, today she passed me our old diary.. yayyy.. I was soooo happy!! When I first open the book, I see an unfamiliar handwriting and I ask whose handwriting is that.. and she said it was mine!!! Wow... I don't recall my handwriting ever look like that... hehe..

And reading the first 2 pages.. I wanted to laugh out loud.. haha... The topics written inside is just.... so... "unimportant" haha.. of course they were important for us at that time, but while reading it again now, it just feels so funny to imagine how we actually felt excited/sad coz of those things that time. And we're also using many broken english to write in our diary... When I see the English I used there... I feel so paiseh... So many errors!! Well... the positive side is... that means my english have improved a lot now.. (I hope) kekekeke...

Can't wait to go home to read the rest of the book....

The chance that I've been waiting for

Yesterday my boss was asking me (for the 2nd time, btw) whether I can travel to Europe for 6 months or not.. Europe!!! It's my dream to go Europe!! I've always wanted to go there.. but 6 months.. is quite long.. of course he said can come back in between, but still..

The first time he asked, my answer was: "Can.. if I bring my baby along.." hahahaa.. The 2nd time round, I started to do more thinking.... and the more I think, the more I feel I want to go. This is the chance that I've been waiting for for years. And I think this kind of chance won't come twice.

But quite in a dilemma... I don't want to miss Vio's cute everyday moments too.. But of course impossible for me to bring him there... who will take care of him when I'm working?

So confused now.. But now the travel arrangement is not out yet... I hope it will be a good one.. like maybe... can go back every month for 1-2 weeks? If like that then I'll consider going... Then in between the 6 months, pi can visit me there for few weeks (bringing Vio along)... oh oh.. isn't it so wonderful? But then, it's still a dreaaaaam.. dream dream dream...
