Scrapbook Layouts for My Niece and Nephew ^^

It's been a looooooooong while since I posted my scrapbook layouts here... Well, partly because nowadays I do more of digital scrapbooking, and when I'm doing paper scrapbook, normally I would be too lazy to take photo of it.. Haha..

Anyway, these are 2 layouts.. 1 for my niece and 1 for my nephew.. Specially ordered by my sister, who wants a layout that she only need to paste the photos on, and framed it.

I cut the names using Silhouette machine, and I quite like how the overall layouts looks ;)  Forgive the dark and unprofessional photo.. These are taken and cropped using my handphone.. :p

Front-Open Cards

Still in the making cards kind of mood... This time round I feel like making a "different" kind of cards.. Soo... here's front-opened cards with cute die-cut shapes!

I used pretty rhinestones to decorate the die-cuts. Don't you think they look kinda cute? Kekekee.. check them out now here.

A Dream Came True

I'm practically in cloud nine now.

I just got my dream machine! I have been eyeing this machine for much more than a year now. It's a digital cutting machine. Basically it can cut any template/picture you have in your computer. It can even cut fonts already installed in your computer. Imagine! I can cut as many letters as I want to in whatever sizes, without worrying some letters are gonna finish soon! And better still.. It can work together with a printer, to print design using normal printer, and after that cut it using this digital cutter. How cool is that!

Upon hearing there's 1 shop in SG selling at 25% off this month and with some freebies, I was so happy! Too bad it was only for members... But since I was quite active in this scrapbooking forum, surely some of them are members in that shop. True enough, someone nice from the forum (that I never met before) was more than willing to help me get it. So we went down together yesterday and get the machine. That lady is just so nice :)

And my review about this product so far? Once I'm home, I can't wait to install the software and this machine. Luckily Vio was asleep, so I got time to play around with it. And... it was aweeeeeeeeeesssssoooooomeeeee... I love it! Cutting and making boxes are such a breeze. I also tried cutting intricate design small christmas trees, and the cutting was just perfect! All I can say now is that I'm in love.. Hahaa :D

Digital Scrapbook

Recently I realized that it's been a veeeeeeeeerrry long while since I last did a digital scrapbook (ever since I start doing the traditional scrapbook, that is). But lately the digital scrapbook "spark" was back. And why is that, you'd ask?

Well, one day pi emailed me about this Dads for Life contest, in which we share a story of daddy and kids moment, and we can post the photo there too. I was determined that we should join the contest (maybe we can win the prize!) and I would post a digital scrapbook of pi & Vio together as the photo to use. It would've been great! (Other than the fact that I have no idea on what to write). And so.... I did a quick one, amazingly finished within 45 mins:

Ahh I just love that series of photos, don't you? It was taken by pi using the front-facing camera in iPhone. The resolution wasn't good, but hey, their father-son expressions are priceless! :)

Except that when pi just found out that apparently the whole world can see the photo (hence, his photo), he decided that he doesn't want to join the contest liao.. aiks aiks.. I was so disappointed... So can't let a hardwork wasted.. I'll just post the scrapbook here.. Haha..

And while I was at it, I decided to make another quick one.. completed within 30 mins. Wow, I think I'm getting faster! :)

A Blessing in a Bad Day

I won't deny that I hateeeeeee hate hate supporting one of a system at work. Sadly, I'm the only one supporting that system and all the problems will come to me. The system was soooo utterly very very poorly developed, and the database design is really cannot make it.. I've never seen a system so badly developed as that one. I think not even in my university time I'd develop something that bad. I'm not exaggerating here.. If you need to support the system, you'd know what I meant. The processing and all was actually supposed to be simple, but the developer made it such a way that it's complicated, and even so troublesome and time-spending to maintain.

And last friday, the big boss requested to change some of the figure in the report. And with this so-called "great" system, it's not just a matter of changing the value in db, and "poof!" the report is changed. Well, I think a system should behave that way! Sadly, this system design makes things difficult since it copies the data from one table to another table, and from the other table to some other table etc etc etc.. so I need to trace the code to see which data need to tweak and which process need to be re-run... And instantly, on Friday I was such in a baaaaaad mood!

To lighten my mood, on 11am, I decided to go for Laines make&take session. (Laines is a local scrapbook store in SG). Well, initially I didn't intend to join it, as the thing to make isn't that interesting. But hey, going to a scrapbook shop will certainly brighten my day, won't it? ;)

So finally I went to join the make&take, we made a Valentine's door hanger. Not bad, at least I can hang it on my door! haha.. And the thing I love about make&take is... having a discount voucher for shopping! That day the promo was 4 item for 40% off. And so I grab 4 items that I like, and I see this 1 paper that I like! But that makes it as 5 items, right? So the additional 1 paper would need to be paid as a normal priced item.

When I went to the cashier to pay, the conversation goes like this. FYI, I frequent the shop so often (most of the time to see see and oh-ah only, and sometime to buy something small), until almost all the shopkeeper know my face liao :">

Cashier: You own a VIP card, right?
Me: Umm.. No, I'm a privilege cardholder
Cashier: Waaattt? You've been coming here for so long, how come still holding privilege cardholder? Currently we have a promo: spend min $50 and you'll get upgraded to VIP (normally must spend a LOTTT to be a VIP member, that explains why I'm not a VIP yet hahaaa)
Me: Oh.. I think my items are less than that... No need la..
Cashier: Hmm.. tell you what.. I'll give 15% discount for the normal-price item (that's the VIP discount), and issue you a VIP card.

Waaaaaaahh.. I was so happy! The cashier girl was so nice to me! I got Laines VIP card now... (15% off normal priced items) kekekekee... At least I got something happy in the blue day :)

A Scrapbook Class!

I just joined a scrapbook class yesterday at Laines. It's my 2nd time joining a class, the 1st one was at MWL where we created 3 LOs using MME Bloom & Grow collection.

Yesterday I took the Yummy Scrummy class, which is a mini album class using Fancy Pants Mixed-Media album. Initially I'm not too sure whether or not I should join, but I have a $35 class voucher expiring end of the month, and I felt like joining a class. But when I saw the sample, it seems so simple that I'm not sure whether or not to join it. But well, in the end I did, and I'm glad I did!

Yeah the project itself was quite simple to do, but I had fun doing it. Learnt some new technique: painting the chipboard and do glitter embossing. That's the 2 things I won't do at home, coz it's messy messy messy... ^^

Just to share, this is the front cover of the sample album... Mine will be about the same, just without the stitching.. I'll be too lazy to stitch.. hahahaa... My album will be used for Vio's 1st bday party album.. so will be 2 more months before I upload my finished "product"

And talking about classes, few weeks back, when I was at laines registering for this class, I overheard an ang-moh asking the cashier: "Can I register my maid for classes?"  I was like... "huh?!?!?!" and thinking... why don't you register me instead?? haha.. that's one very lucky maid hor?

Mini Album - Genting

Wow.. it's my 4th mini album so far!! 4! OK it might not be that much, but for me it's quite a lot.. hehehee... the 5th one is still in the planning stage (read: the photos are not yet chosen and printed!) :)

For this mini album, I made my own 6x6 accordion album! So it means it can be opened from either side.. The materials are mostly from Cosmo Cricket Earth Love collection that I reaaaallly love..

Oh yeah! I finally collected my stack of photos from the shop.. There are 123 photos in total! Wow that's a lot.. and that means having a lot of photos to scrap! Of course I'm not scrapping all lah.. Most of them will go to Vio's photo album.

Before we begin with the LOs, why don't I show you the latest mini album done as a birthday gift for Allie? Hmm.. I have completed it like.. months ago.. but can only be published now, since I must let her be the first one to see it, ain't I? :)

The mini album is for all the photos I've had with her after such a long time together. Actually I wanted to put our high school photos too.. but too bad, I dun have any high school photos here! And we apparently have THOUSANDS of photos together.. ok that might be overexaggerating... yeah we've hundreds of photos together. But of course such a tiny album can't contain so much ;)

Yes, the photos was taken on July, and now is already October.. but I can only scrap the photos now coz I was waiting for my orders from YSS... I ordered the papers & embellishment coz I think it match perfectly with the photos I wanna use!
